Long sight

I used AccuVision after my brother recommended them. I was rejected from getting laser surgery from another place but the team was great and after thorough examination and tests decided I could have the treatment. They are top in their field and know what they are doing. Everything was explained well and paperwork was given to read. On the surgery day, everything went smoothly and the surgeons were very experienced. The surgery went fine a little nervous but you just lie down and be still, the laser when it starts all you see is a red dot mostly. After the surgery the aftercare was great and it was all explained to me very well regarding taking drops and how often. The first night for me was painful as your eyes have a sensation however with the pain relief and drops this is manageable. After the first night the healing process was very fast for me. I attended regular checkups. I went from being -10plus to not needing any glasses and it’s great, so grateful to the team and would definately highly recommend.

From the initial phone call to after care to date all of the staff at Accuvision have exceeded all expectations. They have made me comfortable and confident throughout answering all questions that I had without even having to ask them. I have been long sighted since the age of around 3 yrs. At the age of 9 I have a squint corrected and since then have worn glasses every day. When I reached my teenage years I tried contact lenses but have never really got on with them too much. A work colleague recently had laser surgery and highly recommended I looked into it. I initially went to another high street company and was turned away, saying my long sight and astigmatism wasn’t suitable for laser surgery and they recommended lens replacement. Due to the high cost of this I decided to give it some further thought rather than making an immediate decision. I went back to the internet to try and find an alternative company and that’s where Accuvision come into play. I have to admit I was sceptical at first as I knew my eye sight was very poor with a prescription of +3.5 and +5.75 with astigmatism. I was happily told by optometrist Vik that they could achieve a good outcome with laser surgery using the corneal flap procedure as well. So now I am three weeks post op and my vision is fantastic. I was extremely nervous on the day but the staff put me at ease. I have to be honest and say the part of the procedure where they lift the corneal flap wasn’t pleasant but it was in no way painful and was over in a few seconds. The sucking sensation on the eye is a strange feeling but the laser part of the procedure is easy peesy !. The whole procedure for both eye took about ten minutes. The following few days my eyes were a bit red and sore and felt a bit dry, but I had no urge to rub or touch my eyes at all. The following day on the post op consultation my eyes were healing well and my prescription was +1.0 in both eyes !!. Three weeks on and my prescription is zero in one eye and only 0.75 in the other. I’ve worn glasses and struggled with my vision for nearly 40 years, my only regret is that I didn’t do this sooner. I recently made the decision to have my long sighted vision corrected. After the initial consultation with Accuvision I was in no doubt I had made the right choice trusting them with my sight. I’m not much of a review person but this team deserve credit, From my first phone call right through to the aftercare I can only say excellent. For anyone in doubt, it took me nearly 12 months to make my decision and the outcome for me is far better than I expected. Thank you to all the Accuvision team in Wetherby.

I had worn glasses from a very young age and I’d never very much liked them. I’d previously been informed that my eyes were not suitable for contact lenses due to the disparity between my eyes and that my prescription was too strong to consider laser surgery. Accuvision, on the other hand, assured me that they were able to accommodate my prescription (+3.25, +7.0 and lazy eye) and the results speak for themselves. I have been free of glasses for a year now, and my vision is near enough perfect (due to the strength of my prescription, both eyes would never reach 20/20, but they have come very close!). The freedom is refreshing, and I no longer need to worry about damage to glasses from hobbies like martial arts. I would recommend Accuvision to anyone looking into undergoing surgery, particularly those with strong presciptions. Thank you, Accuvision!

I was using glasses for more than 17 years, I was really tired of using glasses, so decided to get rid from them and then I researched a suitable place for eye surgery and just found ACCUVISION. I went there for consultation and they explained me every thing and answered my questions, my laser surgery was today 13-5-2015 and now I can see perfectly and no need to wear glasses. I would like to thank all the team specially Mr Vikash who is very friendly and caring, I would highly recommend.

 I am 23 years old and everything was wrong with my eyesight before eye surgery at Accuvision. I had a prescription of +12.50 and -4.00 astigmatism in both eyes which meant that I had to rely on yearly contact lenses to see and work every day. Cleaning them all the time meant that they would break and I would have to keep replacing them and this was very frustrating.

 My Uncle and Aunt had visited Accuvision a few years ago and received a great service and that is why they recommended I contact them for a consultation to see if anything could be done for me. I went to see them in October last year and was very encouraged by what they said they might be able to do for me. I was hoping that I could move out of the very expensive yearly contact lenses and move down to monthlies or weeklies. There was no pressure during the consultation, it was all for me and about my vision, just trying to help me find a way to improve my vision. Whatever I asked there was an answer for and what ever they did not know at the time they would find out for me. I re-visited them in June for the surgery having saved up for the treatment. They repeated many of the eye tests to check I was still suitable and then put me forward for surgery. I was very nervous but that was to be expected. Both my eyes were done at the same time and I could feel the effects straight away. There was no pain, it took about 10 minutes and I was out recovering. My eyes were a bit teary but after half an hour I could start reading things I could never have read before. When I left the clinic on the surgery day I went straight to a local shop to buy my favourite chocolate bar (Yorkie) but I could never see them before but this time I could pick it out straight away. I put drops in my eyes religously when I got home, as I was told to do and I have never had dry eye since the surgery. Many of my friends had treatment elsewhere and have suffered from dry eye for a long time after.  My family and friends all know my experience and they are all keen to visit Accuvision to see what can be done for them. My work life has also changed in the last 3 months since surgery. Being a contractor I find myself in dirty dark places like lofts. Before surgery I found it very difficult to operate in these places and had to turn certain jobs down as I knew I would not be able to function properly in them and do the job with the yearly contacts. Now I can take a spare pair of dailies with me and just pop them in if I need to. My eyes do not get so tired and I am able to take on much more varied work as a result of the surgery. Nothing is holding me back. Infact over the last 3 months the laser eye surgery has already paid for itself. I can do so much more. The day after the surgery I was walking from the house to the station and I could read number plates without glasses. When I got to the clinic the day after the surgery my eyesight was checked and instead of it being +8.00 as I was expecting, it was registered as +5.50 with no astigmatism. I went back a week later and it was still stable at +5.50 and then today for my 3 month check up I was registering +5.00 and could be discharged at the next visit. 
I can only thank Accuvision for changing my vision and changing my future.
