Thoroughly impressed by the expertise, integrity, and professionalism displayed by Professor William Ayliffe and Doctor Vikash Patel at AccuVision. I had a thorough and honest consultation in which I was told clearly (in layman’s terms) why we couldn’t use laser treatment on my eye, what procedures are worth doing in the NHS, and different types of procedures for cataract operations that are available to me in the NHS and private clinics. Both staff take the patients best interest at heart, taking into account both their financial and urgency of health situation. If needed, Professor Ayliffe / Dr Patel even won’t hesitate to squeeze you in asap in gaps of their calendar. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Words can’t describe this feeling, absolutely amazing. I was very anxious with anything to do with my eyes!. I’ve wanted this surgery for as long as I can remember. A dream of mine !!. I started wearing glasses at the age of 1 and contact lenses since I was 14. I am now 29!. (So a very long time). I would keep putting off the chance of surgery and finding out my suitability as I always assumed my prescription of +6 in my right eye ( with a squint) and +5.5 in my left eye would be impossible to correct :(. I began to accept that I would never be without a visual aid. At the end of August 2024, I got a contact lens infection (an eye ulcer in my left eye) . This scared me as I realised the risk of over wearing lenses and the severe risk to my eyes. I then contacted Accuvision on the 7th September and spoke to Vik and told him all about my eyes. From the first contact with him, he gave me such confidence that he could help me. I then booked a consultation for the 26th October 2024. I was very nervous as I thought this would be when they finally tell me that I wouldn’t be suitable. I thought this was the start of my journey where I would accept I would be wearing glasses for the rest of my life. Vik did all the tests and was very friendly, caring and welcoming. This helped a lot and will be forever grateful to him!!. He then told me ‘we can help you’. This shocked me and I nearly cried!. He told me that I would be suitable for LASIK. I was so happy as you can imagine. He then told me the risks and the potential outcomes. He didn’t put any pressure on me to book. Accuvision are caring and I took a week to think about it. I had dips, where I thought is it right for me, shall I do it!. Vik was there to answer my questions and gave me that confidence again. I booked my surgery for the 29th November 2024. The surgery day I was nervous but the staff helped me a lot. Especially the receptionist Mary, she kept checking if I was okay. After surgery, she gave me a biscuit and hot chocolate. Vik did my checks and I was good to go for surgery. The surgery was quick. I then got all my drops and information that I needed. I rested at the hotel as my eyes did hurt after. After 3-4 hours. I felt good, no pain. I carried on with my drops and felt better. The next morning I went for my aftercare appointment and Vik said everything looked good. It’s only early days and my vision will fluctuate, until it finds its level, but the feeling of not wearing a visual aid for the first time in my life is amazing. I never thought this day would come. I am so greatful to Accuvision, for not only the treatment options for someone with a high prescription like me, but for the genuine care!. Thank you to Vik especially. You guys have helped me in so many ways possible. I have genuinely cried writing this. All I say is for anyone reading this… GO FOR IT!. Find out what can be achieved for you because these guys are amazing and can treat high prescriptions. Don’t give up there is always hope. Thank you again for this life changing experience!. The staff at Accuvision were amazing and very friendly. Antony was very reassuring at every stage of the process and making sure you was comfortable. During the surgery I felt no discomfort and pain at all. Just a sensation ( like looking away from a bright light is the best way I can describe it) the after care was brilliant. I’d researched the process and knew what to except. So to me the removal on the temporary lenses (to protect the eyes) was going to be the worst part as having tried to wear contact lenses in the past. But Antony was in and out before I even had time to think about it. The few visits after to check your progress was reassuring and once again Antony would show how well your eyes was healing and improving. This surgery was one of the best things I’ve invested in. If you was thinking of having laser eye surgery I would highly recommend them.

All my childhood, I wore glasses. As a timid child, I was bullied a lot through the years because of it. During my teenage years, I would go out without wearing them, but it meant I couldn’t see properly. I consulted several doctors both abroad and in the UK. Four different doctors told me I needed to make peace with my situation – that I wouldn’t see any better and would need stronger glasses as I aged. One prestigious clinic in London even suggested lens replacement surgery. I couldn’t accept this idea and started searching for answers and solutions.

That’s when I found Accuvision online and, based on their stellar reviews, decided to go for a consultation. I thought, “This is my last chance; I have nothing to lose.”
Upon my initial visit, I was greeted warmly by the staff, who made me feel comfortable and at ease. The thorough examination and detailed explanations provided by the optometrist Shalona Pillay, helped me understand my condition.
She is the kindest person, who told me there was hope and that they could help me. I couldn’t believe it and started crying right there in the clinic. They patiently answered all my questions and addressed any concerns I had about the procedure. The team lived up to my expectations and beyond.

My journey began exactly one year ago with a prescription of +4.25 in my right eye and +4.50 in my left eye, along with amblyopia in the left eye. On the 7th of July, I had the surgery with Dr. Panagiotis Kalognomas, who is undoubtedly the best doctor on the planet :). The procedure itself was quick, thanks to their expertise and state-of-the-art technology. I was amazed at how seamless the entire process was.

Post-surgery care was equally impressive. The team provided clear instructions and were available for any follow-up questions or concerns. My recovery was smooth, and I noticed significant improvement in my vision almost immediately.

Throughout my visits, I also made friends with the receptionist, Mery, whose warmth and friendliness made each visit enjoyable. I am deeply grateful to future doctor Johann Panthakey and all the staff at Accuvision for their support and kindness throughout my journey.

The procedure corrected all my long-sightedness, and I am now independent of glasses for both reading and distance vision. Even my lazy eye, which had always been a significant issue, has improved remarkably. It’s incredible to see the progress – you can hardly tell it was ever there. The transformation has been nothing short of miraculous. I can see clearly without glasses for the first time in my life, and it has boosted my confidence tremendously. It’s incredible to experience life without the constant need for glasses or contact lenses.

I waited 1 year to write this review today as it marks my last check post-surgery.I have never experienced such a loving environment; they hold space for you, making you feel genuinely cared for and supported throughout the entire process.

The treatment has dramatically improved my day-to-day life. For a sporty person like myself, wearing glasses during outdoor activities (especially in rain) is a nightmare. The quality of my corrected vision is NOT as good as I had hoped… it’s BETTER. I had a growth on the eye surgically removed by Prof William Ayliffe. This was a very nerve racking procedure, however the hospitality of the Accuvision team helped me through it. I’ve been a patient at accuvision for the last 7 1/2 years and have had some terrible experiences in private hospitals, however here I have found everybody to be very professional, kind, thoughtful and caring. The atmosphere is always relaxing and you feel very comfortable and never feel stressed. They communicate very well and explain everything in detail which is not always the case in other places. They really do pay attention to the smallest of details, which again is very encouraging.
