My profile - age 52 prescription +5.5 in each eye to correct normal vision & reading +7.5 in each eye. The rationale for corrective treatment was simple I had tried varifocals and found these dangerous, so was using 2 sets of spectacles one for day to day use and one for reading. This impacted my life i.e giving presentations at work was difficult not seeing the screen when reading my notes and vice versa, having to inter change glasses.
Like many others thought maybe I was too old or too long-sighted to be treated, spent 6 months thinking about laser treatment, hours surfing the net looking at forums some good ones but including some real horror stories.
So took the plunge and met the team in London for my consultation, yes a team they all worked together and were very professional. The comprehensive examination confirmed my suitability for 2 possible options, lens implant or laser treatment and at this stage Daryus entered the picture and carefully guided me through the decision process. There was no pressure at all.
Surgery took place on 16/04/2009, the team were very professional at reassuring the patient, can honestly say I felt no pain just a degree of uncomfort as it's not everyday someone is fiddling with your eyes, so no surprise. I was talked through the procedure and a nice touch was someone held my hand throughout.
As I sat up after the procedure, the surgeon asked if I could see the clock on the wall...yes... I could even tell the time and before surgery I couldn't.
For convenience I stayed at a hotel overnight, a mere 5 minutes by taxi, went to the room closed the blackout blinds, some interesting sensations in both eyes and adhered to the hourly drop prescription. Went back the next day to have the bandage contact lenses removed and an examination of the eyes, everything was fine.
The period of healing was almost exactly what the team had carefully explained, the first month was difficult and it was important to pace the number of hours in front of the computer or reading/writing emails/sms on the mobile but slowly day by day the vision become clearer and I have 20/20 vision.
From a practical perspective there has been a quantum change in my life...I can see unaided without spectacles....so anyone considering eye correctional treatment should put Accuvision at the top of the list and my sincere thanks to the team for the professionalism and personal touch.

After many years of thinking about having my eyes lasered I decided to look into it fully, many an hour surfing the net looking at forums (Pistonheads being very informative).I decided to have a consultation at Accuvision in Solihull, mainly because I wanted an Eye Surgeon operating on my eyes & Chad Rostron was highly recommended.
I am 52 & over -7 in each eye, I thought maybe I was too old or too short-sighted.
I saw Nick for my consultation & he said I was ok for laser eye surgery,but it still took me 5 days to make my mind up. There was no pressure from them to have surgery, just a nice text message thanking me for having my consultation with them.
Anyway I had surgery on 25/8, the worrying about it was far worse than the actual event. I can honestly say I felt no pain at all, nor can I say it was even uncomfortable. Mr Rostron talked through everything that he was doing & someone even held my hand throughout the procedure.
As I sat up after it was done I could tell the time on the clock on the wall where as before surgery I couldn't even have seen the clock!!!!
I promptly burst into tears, I had been wearing glasses, then contact lenses since I was 9 years old & could not believe it was that instant.......I could see!!!!
At home I had a prickling sensation in my right eye & a little watering for 2-3 hours, no problems at all with my left.
I went back the next day to have the bandage contact lenses taken out & everything was much clearer.
All in all I cannot recommend Accuvision in Solihull highly enough, from Nick to the other optician whose name I didn't catch, to the guy who held my hand during the procedure & Mr Rostron who did the procedure........you all are miracle workers & thank-you so much.

I was recommended by a friend so I booked and attended a consultation.
The care that I received right from my first visit was of a very high standard, which helped me be at ease straight away.I found Vikash to be knowledgeable, straight talking and professional. The high level of customer service that I was faced with contributed in my decision to choose Accuvision.
The treatment it self was quick and virtually discomfort free (15 seconds in total).
The entire procedure took under 10 minutes and I could see clearly the moment that I opened my eyes. On the day I left with 20/20 vision, I don't think my vision was as sharp as this within my 15 years of wearing glasses/contacts.To go from -5.25 vision to 20/20 in 10 minutes was the best decision I ever made. I just can't understand why I waited so long.
I would recommend Accuvision and the team in London for anyone considering Eye Surgery, visit the team and make up your own mind. They are brilliant!
Once again I would like to thank the team for reassuring me and supporting me in correcting my vision.

After finally coming to the end of my tether with my glasses provider, I decided to go for treatment over Christmas 09. My Dad had had laser eye surgery around 8 years ago with Accuvision, so they were an obvious choice. My consultation was clear and concise, and I was told that laser surgery may not entirely correct my vision, as I was a -8.00. I decided to go ahead, because even a very small prescription would be better than what I had currently.
My surgery was booked for mid Feb. I arrived early, and was promptly seen to. The actual procedure was around 10-15 mins, then I was up and out of the clinic before my actual appointment time.
First check up next day, they were happy enough to take the bandage contact lenses off, and by my week follow up, I was amazed at what I could see. I can now legally drive without and glasses, which is something we weren't sure we were going to achieve.
It took about a month before i stopped reaching out every morning to put my glasses on, but its certainly the best money I've ever spent. Thank you to the whole staff, they were amazing, and made the experience as comfortable and informative as possible.

I still can't believe that I can see things so clear without my glasses or contact lenses when I wake up every morning. Because I was so 'blind' for so long. (I was -7.00 in both eyes.) Thanks ever so much to the Accuvision Team! They are excellent, professional and friendly. I was nervous about the surgery, but they gave me total confidence for the surgery, the procedure was quick and pain free, the recovery was amazingly fast. Now, I have better vision than ever before. I would recommend Accuvision to friends and family members as well as everyone who is considering laser eye treatment! They are great!!!!
